The software I list will do all of that for you, and you can use the evaluation version for free. I highly recommend it. Exactly understood. Get existing site working on new server, test it then upgrade.

Ya that isn't a good plan. MUCH better to copy over existing db then do the upgrade. The upgrade will actually fix the indexes but it wont fix default values. Which db is it? this tool will conect to a db and create a .sql file backup of a db, you c…

Hi Renee, Upgrading 3.03 should be fine. CF8 is great. Move files over. Not sure if you need to move the db. Just make sure the database is mssql or mysql and that when you move it over all of the default values and indexes get copied over too. Ma…

Yes theres an option to copy the objects and select the types but it does not preserve the indexes or the primary keys when the copy is actually done. Looking into the backup and restore method.

I haven't used dts with 2005 much. Is there an option to copy objects? then select the object types? Or perhaps do a back up of the db, then restore on the new db.

The only issue I'm having is the editor and the French language.

All of the database and pages are coded utf-8 unicode.
