Savvy Content Manager Community

Community for users of Savvy Content Manager

I would love to see a feature added where you could create a user, and instead of giving them a password, you check a box for ldap authentication. You would need some ldap config somewhere else where you can add multiple servers and paths to search through for the user auth.

This would be very handy for larger business/institutions where we have lots of CMS users and we already have a AD or E-DIR or similar user directory using LDAP. We still create the users in savvy, but just allow the user to authenticate using their existing user/pass.

Would be nice to see a notification somewhere too if a user in savvy is no longer found in the LDAP directory. Help you keep user permissions up to date.

Just an idea.

I love this idea too! It would give me much more flexibility to use on our school web pages.

I agree. This would be very handy. What are the chances of this?

Yeah, it's really not that tough to do with PHP. Just copy the code from Moodle. LDAP is where it's at...
